A massive earthquake has struck southern California with estimates coming in that it had a magnitude of 6.6 which has now been downgraded to 6.4.
According to the Mirror, the quake is believed to be the strongest to hit California in more than five years.
CNN reported that there was an initial earthquake which happened and then four large aftershocks followed, measuring 4.7, 3.5, 3.8 and 4.2 magnitude.
