Iconic Lidl Trainers Are Set To Hit Stores This Week

The iconic Lidl trainers are set to launch in UK stores for just £12.99.

Some shoppers will be able to get their hands on the creps on Thursday (16 September).

They feature the familiar yellow and blue colour combo and accessories are supposed to be available from 99p.

The fan-favourite shoes are available in Ladies' 4-7 and Men's 7-11 ½ sizes as part of the new 'Lild by Lidl' range.

The footwear hits Lidl stores this Thursday (15 September) and is available while stocks last.

The budget store described the trainers as 'a must-have for any Lidl-loving fan, or followers of the latest trainer trends, their classic retro style makes them the perfect pop of colour for any look'.

It added: "They also feature a comfortable tongue and added ankle padding for all-day wear."

One Twitter user wrote: 'Can someone send me 12 quid so I can buy the Lidl trainers?'

Another said: "I want Lidl trainers so bad it hurts."

Lidl's trainers were hugely popular in the rest of Europe last year with people selling for more than 30 times their original value, with one pair showing up at €499 (£450) on eBay.

According to Finnish news site Foreigner, the shoes were that hotly anticipated that people were queuing up outside stores in the country, waiting for them to open.

One customer told Foreigner: "There were all the people on top of each other. The seller just shouted, remember the social distance."

Another, who was present at Kalasatama's Red Lidl, said: "Everyone lined up normally.

"At exactly 8am they run or quickly walked to the shop and the sneakers shelf emptied in less than 10 seconds."

One person even posted a screenshot on Twitter that showed them being sold for €6,000 (£5,440) on Finnish auction site Tori - but we couldn't find that listing to confirm.

If trainers aren't enough for you, the UK 'Lidl by Lidl' collection also includes Adults' Sports Socks (£1.49), Men's Swimming Shorts (£4.99) and Foldable Shopping Bags (99p).
