A teenage boy has died after a shark ripped a huge chuck off his leg and penis in Brazil.
Jose Ernesto Ferreria da Silva was rushed to Restauracao Hospital in the city of Recife following the attack, suffering two heart attacks on the way. Eight doctors worked to save the 18-year-old's life, but despite their best efforts, the young man passed away.
Surgeons tried to reattach veins to his sexual organs and also amputated his leg during the three-hour operation.

Director General of the hospital, Miguel Arcanjo, told reporters: "He arrived unconscious, with an extremely serious injury. After the surgery he was taken to the Intensive Care Unit.
"He lost a lot of blood, which was replaced, but he suffered hypovolemic shock and passed away."
The teenager's body has been taken to the Institute of Legal Medicine to undergo an autopsy.

Rodrigo Matias, who works for the local fire department, said the man was swimming with his brother, Ezequiel, and some pals at the Piedade beach, an area that is known for shark attacks - and which has signs warning swimmers.
De Silva's mum, Elisangela dos Anjos, told JC Online her son hadn't told her he was going to the beach that day, adding that the first she knew of it was when her other son rang to tell her about the attack.
She said: "He would go in secret, because he knew that I thought it was dangerous. I wasn't worried because I thought he was somewhere around the house.
"When I heard about it I went crazy, all the neighbours heard me screaming."

Onlookers had filmed the shocking moment when Jose's body was carried from the sea with a huge wound to his thigh and genitals.
The disturbing footage shows paramedics working to move Jose's limp body onto a stretcher as onlookers scream in horror.
There have been 25 shark related fatalities at that beach alone since 1992. Authorities haven't revealed the type of shark that attacked Jose, but it's believed to have been a tiger shark.

A tiger shark was responsible for tearing off a different 18-year-old's leg near Hawaii.
Mike Coots was out boogie boarding when one of the ocean predators grabbed him by his right leg and managed to rip it clean off. He said the animal got a hold on him and started throwing him around 'like a piece of meat'.
"I gave it a couple of good punches on the nose then got back on the board," he added. "My hand was bloody but I managed to start paddling back to shore. Then my right leg started spasming.
"I saw something to the side which I thought was the shark. I looked over and it was my severed leg, I was just spurting blood out of the missing limb."

Despite the horrific attack, Mike has gone on to become a shark conservationist and is working to stop them from being slaughtered.
