New Year's Eve can be a massive night, filled with friends, celebrations and a positive outlook on the year ahead.

However, for others it can be a real drag.

There are some people out there with no party to go to, no friends to call up and no family to hang with and that means that the evening can be really lonely.

Well, there is a solution to this problem.

If you're feeling a little lonely tonight, you're more than welcome to call the Lonely Hearts hotline and speak to none other than Pauline Hanson.

The One Nation leader has launched the phone number so that people who are feeling alone during New Year's Eve have someone to to talk to.

"I recognise people are doing it tougher than usual this year and the idea of celebrating New Year's Eve is an expense so many people can't afford,'' she told the Courier Mail.

"The idea was put together by my staff and I to have a New Year's Eve with my 288,000 Facebook followers after reports revealed one in four Australians feel lonely.

"We've combined Facebook live with some new technology that allows us to take callers and have a fun night on one of the loneliest evenings on the calendar.

"Who knows what to expect, it's live and it's never been done before so anything could eventuate."

There will be 16 lines attached to the hotline but it won't just be Ms Hanson on the other end. For those people who have more serious issues, there will be a psychologist and a prerecording for people who need immediate help with professionals.

The hotline will go live at 6pm.
