In the early hours of Wednesday morning, a video of two white police officers constraining and shooting a black man outside a shop in Louisiana went viral.

The confrontation took place in Baton Rouge after reports emerged of a man threatening people with a gun outside a shop.

A post-mortem showed Alton Sterling, 37, died of gunshot wounds to the chest and back.

Since the death, family members have called for a federal investigation into why Sterling was killed, given the video appears to show the two police officers in full control of the situation.

As we all know, there is extreme tension in the US after a recent spate of deaths of African-American men at the hands of police.

Just hours after the death, a crowd gathered at the scene of the incident chanting, "Black lives matter."

Naturally, social media erupted at the news with the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter and #AltonSterling quickly trending globally on Twitter.

However, one man who has had enough of social media activism is The Game. The rapper took to Instagram to tell his followers and all those who truly believe black lives matter to go out and affect change.

Before you watch this video, viewer discretion is advised as it is extremely disturbing...

Here's a full transcript of how The Game captioned the video...

All we gone do is repost it & type "SMH" over & over again huh ?? Then we gone put#JusticeForAltonSterling&#BlackLivesMatterhashtags on Instagram & pretend that's us taking action huh ??? Some extremely powerful words about a very emotive subject. The fallout from this incident will be just as huge as all the ones that have preceded it.

What's most sad is that I fear this won't be the last time we all have to see and read about a subject like this.
