Edmonton police are investigating a hit and run that killed former UFC fighter Ryan Jimmo.
Investigators say Jimmo, 34, died early Sunday morning following a fatal altercation in a car park.
They claim Jimmo had approached the driver of a vehicle and while walking back to his own car he was hit by another vehicle which then sped off away from the scene.

Jimmo was later pronounced dead in hospital.

The suspect vehicle was described by police as a dark, customised older model pickup truck.

Jimmo, a 6ft 2" 205-pounder known as 'The Big Deal' during his career, made his UFC debut at UFC 149 in Calgary in July 2012.
Jimmo went 19-5 in his MMA career, with a 3-4 record in seven UFC fights. His last fight against Francimar Barroso, at UFC Fight Might 67 in May 2015, ended in loss.
He had most recently lived in Arizona after stints in Edmonton and Halifax.

His death prompted social media tributes from the MMA community, including UFC President Dana White, who tweeted a photo of the fighter under the captoon 'RIP Ryan Jimmo'.
