Teacher arrested over student sexting scandal faces fresh charge after 'twerking' on teen

Teacher arrested over student sexting scandal faces fresh charge after 'twerking' on teen

This isn't the first time the teacher has faced legal troubles over inappropriate behaviour with a minor.

A Florida Christian high school teacher has been arrested for twerking on a student at prom.

WFLA News reported that 39-year-old Julie Hoover has been accused of twerking on a student at a high school prom at Point of Grace Christian School in April.

Hoover allegedly made the 18-year-old drink alcohol, forcing her straw from her cup into his mouth.

Investigators revealed that two people reportedly tried to get in between the student and the teacher before they began dancing.

Now, the teacher has been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, as per Law & Crime.

However, this isn’t the only time the teacher has faced legal troubles.

Hoover was also arrested in June for allegedly sexting a student.

The teen’s mother reported the incident to police on June 2 after discovering lewd messages on her son’s phone.

Similarly, a teacher was accused earlier this year of sleeping with a pupil at a Premier Inn after prom.

Melissa Tweedie was a teacher at Gleniffer High School in Paisley when she was spotted dancing inappropriately with students while forcing them to take shots.

While Melissa has denied allegations, she admitted she hopped into bed with a pupil; however, she maintains the two never had sex.

Deadline

Express reported that Miss Tweedie wrote in a statement at the time: “I saw what appeared to be a bag of cocaine waved in my face, it was highly alarming and that is why I did not go home with my flatmate.

“I should have walked back to tell the other staff and I should have called the police.

"Pupils were saying 'Miss, come upstairs for a drink, it'll only be one.'

"I was given one glass of Echo Falls white wine by a girl.

“The next part that is clear is jolting up in the bed, I can’t see any face in my memory but I woke up and said 'what are you doing here?'"

Following an investigation conducted by The General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), the teacher registry opted to remove her.

However, the GTCS did not find this allegation proven due to the lack of evidence presented to the panel.

Melissa now lives in Dubai and works as a yoga teacher.
