Soccer AM star Tubes has told fans he suffered a 'very unexpected and major heart attack', aged just 35.

The TV star shared a photo of himself in hospital on Instagram, where he updated fans and thanked hospital staff.

Tubes, real name Peter Dale, shared the snap, where he appeared to be wearing a heart monitor, with the caption: "On Sunday I suffered a very unexpected major heart attack. Can't thank the surgeons and staff at St. Peters hospital Chertsey and the Ambulance crew enough.

"If it wasn't for your quick and efficient work I may not have been writing this message now. Thank you.

Tubes is a firm favourite with fans of the show, having his own regular feature where he was given the chance to ask a celebrity guest 'one question and one question only'.

The 35-year-old recently opened up about his battle with alcoholism, on the 1 January he shared an emotional post on his Instagram page, writing: "2017 (and half of 2016) have been the best years of my life because I finally admitted I'm highly addicted to alcohol and enough was enough and had to stop.

"Just wanted to say a massive thanks to everyone for all your kind words and support, it's massively appreciated and keeps me strong. Hope everyone has an amazing 2018. Big love legends xxx." He was quickly inundated with messages of support from his fans as well as people commending him for being so open.

It's good to see he's on the mend and will hopefully be back on TV soon.
