Half of the Great British public have said they will be staying home this weekend, choosing to swerve the pubs, barbers and hairdressers that will be back in action from Saturday.

For the first time since the country went into lockdown in March, from tomorrow (4 July) English pubs, bars and restaurants will be allowed to open their doors to customers, so long as they have the appropriate health and safety measures in place.

The same change also applies to barber shops and hairdressers, meaning many people can finally get that lockdown barnet seen to after months of having to watch it grow out into an absolute monster.

However, it seems not everyone's going to be rushing out for a freshly-poured pint or a haircut tomorrow, with a new LADbible poll revealing more than 50 percent of the public say they'll be staying at home.

We asked LADbible readers what they would rather be doing this weekend, with 50.3 percent of the 13,761 votes saying 'staying at home' is number one on their agenda.

A total of 26.7 percent said getting a haircut, while just 23 percent said they fancied going to the pub.

Some admitted they'd prefer to go to the pub, but felt happier staying at home for now.

One person commented: "I'd rather be going to the pub but I know what I'll really be doing - staying at home."

Another said: "Love to go for a pint but I will stay in to help our NHS because they don't deserve a second wave. They are sterling workers and risk their lives to save us. Angels walking among us."

Others said they wanted to stay at home and drink instead, with one Twitter user saying: "Stay at home and get perfectly drunk by myself."

Someone else agreed: "No pub if I need to give my details. Go to shop and get a few drinks in instead."

Not everyone feels tempted to stay in this weekend, however, with some saying they'd be killing two birds with one stone instead.

"Haircut first thing then pub," one tweeted.

A second added: "Haircut then off to the pub. Finish it off with a takeaway on the way home."

Whatever you end up doing this weekend, just make sure you're taking the right precautions to keep yourself and others safe - such as wearing a face covering if you're going to get your hair cut, or only visiting the pub in a group comprising people from no more than two households.

You must also maintain a distance from other people of at least one metre, but ideally two if possible.
