Police have issued an appeal for information about a man currently under investigation for a sexual offence, having asked victims to take part in a fake 'nude game show'.

Several people in London were tricked into being filmed naked after being approached by a 29-year-old man claiming to work in the entertainment industry.

According to the Metropolitan Police, he would ask them to be involved in a fake game show in return for the chance of winning £5,000.

A 28-year-old man reported such an incident to the police in June 2018, saying he had been asked to go to a hotel in Newham to take part in a series of nude 'challenges' - which were filmed - as part of the fictional show.

The suspect then kept the footage, which police believe was for his own gratification.

Another incident was reported by a second victim, a 31-year-old man, who was identified on 2 February 2020.

He said that in August 2013, the suspect had coerced him to go to a hotel in south east London to take part in similar activity.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on 30 January 2019 on suspicion of voyeurism, and was released under investigation.

Now police are looking for more information, saying they believe there may be other people who are victims in relation to the two incidents.

Sergeant James Mason, of the Met's North East Basic Command Unit, said: "We believe there may be more victims in relation to these events. I urge anyone who may be a victim of similar crimes or incidents from 2013 to the present day, to come forward with information.

"The reported incidents took place several years ago and it is important we are able to investigate these and support any further victims."

Issuing an appeal for information on Twitter, the force wrote: "Police are appealing for information concerning a male who is under investigation for a sexual offence after asking victims to take part in a fake 'game show'."

The Metropolitan Police said anyone with information, or who believes they may have been a victim, is asked to call 101, quoting crime reference CAD1162/11122020.
