A man has lost an incredible 10 stone in a year without going to the gym or using weight loss jabs.

Josh Hilton, from Wiltshire, was 20 stone at his absolute heaviest and, with a waist size of 48, he would struggle to tie his laces.

The turning point came after seeing a work photo of himself and deciding that enough was enough.

From 1 January, of last year, he addressed his £3,000-a-year takeaway addiction and drastically changed his lifestyle.

He was eating two or three takeaways a day, from KFC to McDonald's, as well as three litres of full fat coke.

"Health-wise before, my breathing wasn't great," the hairdresser, 31, said.

"I'd struggle to do my shoelaces without sweating.

"I couldn't get in the car if another car was near it because of my belly - it was embarrassing and humiliating."

He added: "Day-to-day life was uncomfortable really."

Josh says he put himself in a calorie deficit, which means eating fewer calories than you're burning.

Much of the research out there suggests that it's vital for fat and weight loss.

So he opted to swap high calorie takeaways, crisps and chocolate for protein-heavy meals, fibre and fruit and vegetables.

12 months on, Josh cut his bodyweight in half and now weighs just over 10 stone, with a waist size of 28.

"Now I'm so much more confident, I sleep better, my skin is better, I actually want to get up each morning and get on with my day," he said.

"I just want to take on the world. I know I now need to incorporate some exercise to get some muscle mass back in and get some shape."

After getting his calories down, Josh says people thought he had 'been to Turkey' for weight loss surgery, or was using a weight-loss drug like Mounjaro.

He insisted: "I've done no exercise whatsoever, apart from walking a lot more.

"I wanted to get the food side down.

"No jabs or any gastric sleeve."

Josh's diet before

Breakfast - Skip breakfast

Lunch - Skip lunch

Dinner - Takeaway (McDonald's, Chinese, Indian, Kebabs)

Snacks - Cakes, crisps, chocolate

Drinks - Three litres of full fat coke

Josh's diet after

Breakfast - Low fat yoghurt with fruit and honey or porridge

Lunch - Jacket potato with beans and cheese or a salad

Dinner - Pasta dishes, protein dishes, veg.

Snacks - Crisps in moderation, fruit, low calorie chocolates

Drinks - Three to four litres of water

'Food addiction is real'

Despite such an amazing achievement, the hair stylist says he still feels 'like a 20 stone man'.

Josh admitted he 'still mentally feels huge' and that 'it's a battle' being addicted to food.

"Food addiction is real and isn't understood enough," he added.

"If someone is an alcoholic or has a gambling addiction there seems to be more sympathy."

However, his advice for others is to 'take it slow' and not to expect quick results.

"When you are bigger, you've got an addictive and impulsive personality, and you want quick results straight away," Josh said.

"But reign it in and be happy with half a pound a week.

"If you get the calorie deficit side right as well, you can eat what you want and still lose weight."
