Prince William Makes 'Hilarious' Speech At Harry And Meghan's Wedding Reception

To be fair, Harry has given him some material to work with over the years

So, you've probably noticed that there was a wedding on this weekend. Millions around the world tuned in to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle get themselves hitched in St George's Chapel, Windsor.

However, after all of the cameras were off, the BBC had packed up and gone home, and the campers had gone back to doing whatever it is they fill their days with normally, there was still the matter of the reception.

Yes, like all good weddings there was a private evening party for just a select few, and it seems to have been a pretty good party.

Obviously, one of the key parts of any wedding celebration is the best man's speech, and this was no different. Whilst we don't know exactly what William said, an insider said that he didn't hold back in his speech.

To be fair, over the years Harry has given him enough material to work with. You'd hope that he managed to stay clear of the Nazi uniform scandal from back in the day (not a great look) but surely the naked hotel 'strip billiards' story made an appearance? It would be a dereliction of duty not to mention that.

It is possible that he was trying to exact a bit of revenge for Harry's speech at his wedding back in 2011.

According to the Express, a source said William also teased his wee brother about his receding hairline - people in glass houses, Will.

They said: "They teased Harry about his growing bald patch, and Wills said it would become as bad as his.

"It was some bash."

However, the overall tone of the speech seems to have been just right, with the insider remarking that William 'managed to strike the right balance between hilarious and solemn'.

One such solemn part of the speech was when he mentioned their late mother, Princess Diana. William reportedly said: "She would have been proud of her younger son".

He also paid tribute to the new woman in Harry's life. He said Meghan was 'the sister he never had' and called her 'the best thing that had ever happened to Haz'.

Very sweet and all, but seriously? Haz?

Meghan also broke with tradition by giving a speech herself. During a short but emotional speech she thanked the Royal Family for inviting her into the family and said: "I have found my prince."

Aww, bless.
