The army personnel seems to place supplies on the floor for his family, including what appears to be bags of nappies, and moves them out of the way so his child can get through.

The father then extends his arms out to the young child as his son says, “Papa” and the pair hug.

The father appears to look quite emotional in the video as he embraces his son, while their family dog also gets involved with the reunion.

It is not clear when exactly the TPXA clip was filmed, or how long the soldier was home before continuing his war efforts in the Russian invasion against Ukraine.

The video comes as the head of the United Nations (UN) atomic watchdog said there has been no release of radioactive material at the Ukrainian nuclear plant that was attacked by Russian forces, PA Media reports.

The news arrives shortly after it was confirmed that a fire that broke out at Europe's largest nuclear power plant on Friday (4 March) morning had been extinguished by emergency services.

A CCTV camera at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant was live-streaming the assault on YouTube for several hours.

Ukrainian State Emergency Services confirmed that the blaze at the facility had occurred 350 miles south of Kyiv.
