In the video, which was shared to Reddit, Ukrainian soldiers were seen interacting with the tiny pup, who they named “Rambo”.
The soldiers explain in the minute-long video: “He is our protector, right Rambo?”
They added: “We felt sorry for him, it was freezing outside. We took him into our post and he stayed with us.”
Their new companion was wagging his tail in the video as he ran around the soldiers’ post.
Check out the sweet video here:
“He is security, that’s his job. He is our watchdog,” they said of the cute canine.
And despite his small size, he’s an expert at his job.
“He can hear very well if there is a stranger nearby”.
Believe it or not, the animal used to be even smaller: “He used to be so tiny he could fit in one hand.”
Speaking of where the puppy came from, the soldiers explained how there used to be “a pregnant dog running around near here.”
“We have two more puppies left, but they are usually in the kitchen.”
Understandably, fans of the video and indeed, of the pup, took to the comments section of the social media platform to share their joy over the clip.
“Protect Rambo at all costs!! [sic],” one Reddit user wrote.
Another echoed: “Glory to Rambo! That's so cute”.
“Finally, some good f***ing news,” a different fan wrote.
Another video watcher commented: “10/10 spy pup”.
The move was announced as a ‘historic moment’ by the Parliament of Ukraine on Twitter.
