Man Comes Up With 'Petty' Way Of Stopping People Walking Across His Front Lawn

A man has been called 'petty' after coming up with an incredible way of stopping people from walking on his lawn. Watch below:

Thomas Lyons said he was sick of people ignoring his pleas to walk on the pavement around his property.

In CCTV footage from his home, you can see people riding their bikes across his lawn or strolling along, seemingly without a second thought that it's actually someone else's land they're traipsing across.

At the end of his tether, he decided that he had had enough and took matters into his own hands by installing an automatic sprinkler system.

So now, whenever someone tries to take a shortcut across his garden, they are in for a soggy surprise.

In footage shared on his TikTok account, passers-by can be seen getting a good old soaking as soon as they step onto his lawn.

He shared the video with the caption: "More lawn pirates! Asked nicely everyday to stay off the lawn but people just keep coming."

Since the video was shared, it has been viewed more than 2.5 million times, with thousands sharing their thoughts on the measures taken by Thomas.

One user said: "I love this level of pettiness. It's your lawn, so do as you wish."

Echoing the appreciation, another chimed in: "I don't get why people do this. I was taught to not walk on people's grass and I teach my kids to do the same."

"The pure entertainment I'd get from this. Please, livestream," put a third.

While another added: "It is disrespectful to walk on someone's grass, especially if you were told not to."

Replying to someone in the comments, Thomas said there was more to come.

"My buddy just set this up the other day. So, hopefully, we get a lot more of these videos coming," he explained.

But not everyone was on board with Thomas' actions.

"What's wrong with walking on the lawn?" asked one.

Another critic said: "Literally so petty. It's grass, they ain't ruining it."

A third commented: "I will never understand that past, like, 40, you start caring about grass so much."
