A kind-hearted mum has been forced to defend herself after posting a photo of her fully stocked freezer.

The woman had posted on a Facebook group called 'Mums Who Cook Or Bake', saying she has a freezer full of meal prep that she's made for her 30-year-old son, who no longer lives with her.

She explained that although he doesn't live at home, he can 'always let himself in for a feed'.

She wrote: "He knows there's always a selection in the freezer, if I can you can."

The piles of plastic containers included Thai curry, pasta, soup, beef casserole, rice with vegetables and frozen cubes of cheese sauce.

But although she is only looking out for her child, the mum was slammed on the post. She deleted the nasty comments but wrote a response to her critics.

She added: "This post was meant to inspire, not judge.

"I am turning off comments as this is becoming very overwhelming, love to you all, life can be wonderful no matter what."

But despite those who left negative comments, others were inspired by her idea, calling her a 'wonderful mumma'.

One said: "I hope I do the same for my son because I love cooking."

Others shared their fridges.

Another mum recently divided opinion on the internet after her breakfast meal preparation went viral. Amanda Ranit, from Oregon, US, posted a video to her TikTok account, showing how she makes 100 McMuffin-style sandwiches in one go for her family.

In the short clip, Amanda shows her kitchen worktop filled with dozens of sarnies.

Explaining how she does it, Amanda says: "I get a lot of questions about how I make these breakfast sandwiches for my family.

"I make about 100 sandwiches at a time."

The video then shows the muffins being filled with slices of cheese and sausage.

The mum-of-two adds: "Add your favourite sliced cheese. I prefer Tillamook habanero jack cheese but today my husband requested boring cheddar.

"These ones are sausage. But they're great with Canadian bacon too."

Once they're finished, Amanda packs them into plastic bags and freezes them for up to three months.

"Pull straight from the freezer and throw it in the air fryer for the perfect crispy sandwich. (But the microwave works in a pinch)," she says.

But some people weren't overly convinced by the idea of having a McMuffin-style sandwich every day.

Commenting on the post, one critic said: "'Meal prep, what a joke."

Another added: "People really eat this every day."

However, there were also plenty of others who saw the genius side of Amanda's hack.

"Brilliant! Having a plan also saves money. Thanks for the ideas!" said one fan.

Another put: "A lot more cost-effective than the four pack of pre made ones at the store! Love it."

While a third commented: "I bet that saves you a lot!"
