A Brazilian-American model risked being arrested in North Korea for taking a series of risque and prohibited photographs and posing for another selfie wearing the hat of a police officer.

For anyone who is familiar with North Korea's rules and laws, you won't need to be told that they're somewhat strict and don't really bend for those who want to take the p***.

However, 33-year-old model Liziane Gutierrez did exactly that and managed to walk away from it.

Oh, and she did some of it whilst wearing a skirt branded 'USA' in Kim Jong-un's hermit state.

The model, who came to fame some time ago when she sued rapper Chris Brown for an alleged altercation in Las Vegas, was travelling as part of a guided group around the secretive state when she crossed more than one of the red lines in place regarding what tourists can and can't do.

During her stay, Gutierrez posed for naked photographs in her hotel suite, took illegal selfies in front of the statues of North Korea's current and former supreme leaders, and stole a copper's hat whilst she was drunk.

She explained: "We were on the train, me and the rest of the group, and we were drinking, and it's like six hours on the train.

"So we were drinking, we had a bottle of tequila, we had Jack Daniel's, we had beer - everything you can imagine.

"I went to the bathroom and then I saw the door was locked, and I saw the hat right outside."

"And then I got the hat, and I took it to my cabin on the train and I showed it to the people. 'Hey, look what I found. Look what I found'.

And everyone was like, 'you're crazy. You can't do that'.

"And then I just took some pictures, I did the video and then I put it back. He [the soldier] didn't see it."

Then, at the Mansu Hill Grand Monument in the capital, Pyongyang, she decided she needed a few shots of her at the site.

Over the course of her visit, she says that she earned something of a reputation as a 'troublemaker'. Then even asked to check her phone as she was leaving the small Asian republic.

She added: "When he was looking at my phone, I was sweating.

"I started freaking out because I didn't realise, until that moment, that all my pictures, everything that I was doing would be seen.

"I was extremely nervous because I could end up in jail. I was very lucky that they didn't check the album containing all the pics I took there."

"Because of the [USA] skirt and because I was always drinking on the street, the guide said 'she's the troublemaker. This one's a troublemaker. We've never, ever had someone like you'."

Despite that, it looks like Gutierrez actually loved her trip.

"I loved North Korea and I'm going back for sure. The people are super friendly, the drinks are very cheap, and from what I saw of North Korea it's a very nice country."

Let's see if they let her...
