A rather unlikely partnership has emerged between two UK high street favourites – Greggs and Primark.

Over the weekend, eagle-eyed fans spotted a number of displays at Primark stores featuring Vegan Sausage Rolls and Steak Bakes.

Primark’s social media channels also mysteriously posted receipts with iconic items from the Greggs menu.

Following their clever marketing ploy, the much-loved brands confirmed the rumours by announcing their new partnership this morning (8 February).

Most exciting of all, they are set to join forces to open the world’s largest Greggs at Primark’s flagship store.

The 130-seater-café, called ‘Tasty by Greggs’, will open its doors to the public on 12 February in Birmingham, offering hungry shoppers a chance to grab all their favourite items, such as bakes, pizza, sweet treats, and of course, sausage rolls.

Foodies can expect the ‘ultimate Greggs experience’, from doughnut-inspired seating areas, to flying vegan sausage rolls, and even a doughnut swing.

There will also be a Greggs picnic area for you to put your feet up after a hard day's shopping, as well as a self-serve coffee cart to skip the queues.

The café will take over the mezzanine level of the world’s largest Primark in Birmingham, which also features a Disney Café and Smokey Barbers.

If that’s not enough to satisfy the nation, the brands will also be releasing a limited-edition clothing range, set to launch on 19 February across 60 Primark stores.

Fans can finally sport their favourite bakery chain once they release their official 11-piece collection, which is a first for Greggs in its 83-year history.

The brands have given fans a small taste of what to expect, such as a white hoodie with the Greggs logo featured across the chest. ‘It’s a pastry thing’ can be seen across the sleeve of the jumper.

Raymond Reynolds, business development director at Greggs, said: “Fans can quite literally show their love for Greggs on their sleeve.”

He added: “Our ‘Tasty by Greggs’ cafe will be the first of its kind, and will offer an exciting Greggs experience, underpinned by the great products and service that’s already delivered across all of our shops.”

If you simply cannot wait to get your hands on some Greggs merch, then the brands are offering an exclusive pop-up in London on February 17-18, in where fans can get their hands on two items from the new collection for free.

Greggs and Primark will share a link to their booking system on Instagram and Facebook at 10am this Thursday (10 February), so get those fingers ready.
