Reckon your pet pooch would give accurate holiday reviews? Well, maybe it's time to test their appreciation of the finer things in life and recruit them as a 'Canine Critic'.

We're deadly serious here - Canine Cottages is looking to employ 10 dogs to review pet-friendly cottages and staycations.

With staycations being near enough all we can do for a holiday at the moment, this seems like a good time.

The pets can of course bring along their owners for the ride - meaning dog parents would get a nice little getaway.

Each Canine Critic will receive a £1,000 voucher for a cottage holiday with their owner - as well as a bag full of treats... and it isn't even Christmas yet. Fetch your application here.

Successful candidates will be acting as the paws on the ground responsible for reviewing cottage holidays, posting on Canine Cottages' social channels, sniffing out adventures along the way and generally living the doggy dream.

Enjoy long walks on the beach with your furry friend.

The competition has exploded in popularity from 7,000 hopeful applicants in its debut year to more than 50,000 in 2019, with dogs all over the UK dreaming of being crowned a critic.

The successful doggos will be profiled on the Canine Cottages website and appear regularly across the company's social media channels.

Potential applicants will just need a little help from their humans when applying, which simply involves uploading your favourite snap of your furry friend and completing an online form, which you can find here.

Canine Cottages Digital PR Manager, Shannon Keary says: "Our 2019 campaign was phenomenally successful and we were overwhelmed with the calibre and quantity of entries.

"The chosen 2019 Critics have been amazing and we've loved having them as ambassadors for our brand. Now we cannot wait to recruit ten, new top dogs for 2020.

"We're on the hunt for a diverse selection of 'real' dogs who love to explore the UK and have their photo taken, as well as a willing human to sit, stay and lie down with!"
