A woman who got 'It's coming home' tattooed on her ankle has no regrets about the ill-fated inking.
You may have heard that England lost the Euro 2020 final against Italy yesterday (11 July), meaning the wait for it to come home goes on.
Of course, we all hoped this would be our time, and a bullish Courtney Harrison was so confident she got the lyrics to the 'Three Lions' anthem permanently etched on her skin, along with an England flag and '2021'.
However, despite the fact England lost and she isn't even a football fan, the 22-year-old remains happy with her decision.
The carer, from Workington, Cumbria, said: "I got it because of the year we've had with Covid and it was to make the people around me laugh.
"England did well as a team and have brought so many people together and brought us a bit of normality back.
"We were so close so the tattoo will remind me of how good of a team we are and how close we did get."
As I say, Courtney doesn't even like football, but like so many she got caught up in the drama that has gripped the nation over the past month.
Speaking after the semi-final against Denmark, she said: "I don't even like football, I'd never watch the Premier League or anything, but when it's the Euros or the World Cup everyone gets into it don't they?
"I thought if I get this tattoo I might give the lads a bit of luck - and it seems to have worked so far.
"Watching the game last night was so tense, knowing that I have 'It's coming home' branded onto my skin made me want them to win so much more.
"I couldn't take my eyes off it, you would have thought I was an actual fan."
Courtney spent £40 ($55) on the tat, and while she has no plans to cover it up, she did previously suggest she might get it amended.
She said: "If we lose I'm going to get the word not added between 'It's' and 'home' with a little arrow, so it will say 'It's not coming home'.
"I'm going to look a bit silly if we don't do it now but at least I'll have a funny story to tell."
At this point, nothing seems funny. Maybe one day we'll be able to laugh about it.
