Pakistani Politician Mistakes Grand Theft Auto V Footage For Real Life
It's easy to take the internet's vast wealth of information at face value - but things are not always as they seem. Nobody knows this to be true more than Pakistani politician Khurram Nawaz Gandapur.
After seeing a video of a plane narrowly missing a tanker on a runway, he was duly impressed and took to Twitter to lavish praise on the person responsible.
In fact, he was keen to give plaudits to the pilot's 'presence of mind' - only to find out the skillful feat was in fact footage from the video game Grand Theft Auto V.
The (presumably red-faced) Awami Tehreek Secretary General wrote: "Narrow escape of an aircraft which could have ended in a great disaster. Miraculous save by the pilot's presence of mind."
Understandably, the politician later deleted his tweet, but he was relentlessly trolled by people who rightfully found it hilarious.
Hello, this is a simulation video. Such things aren't possible in real life situations. If so the KLM & Panam crash would have been avoided. You should learn about lift.

Couldn't have been possible without the blessing of prophet (GTA5).

Lol... Presence of mind or absence of mind?

The video doesn't really look remotely real if you're used to seeing video games but maybe to the untrained eye it could be an easy mistake to make. Maybe.
It's not the first time that the country's politicians have been the victim of technology related blunders.
A live-stream of a political press conference in Pakistan was given quite the makeover after the person streaming it left a cat filter on - with one politician left resplendent in adorable whiskers and pink ears.
The video of regional minister Shaukat Yousafzai speaking to journalists was streamed on Facebook Live and quickly went viral after people spotted the mistake.
Comments flooded in from Facebook users, with one person very helpfully posting: "Remove the filter, the man has been turned into a cat."
However, the conference continued streaming with the filter still on.
The video was deleted from the official Facebook page of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Party minutes after the conference ended, but by that time screenshots were already doing the rounds all over social media, with people asking, 'Who let the cats out?'
It's quite difficult to appear important and serious while sporting a pair of ears and a set of whiskers, but in screengrabs it looks as though Yousafzai just about manages it, don't you think?
