Man Takes Girlfriend On Date To Tinder HQ As It's 'The Place They First Met'

Well, at least SOMEONE managed to form a meaningful relationship on Tinder

Let's set the scene. A couple is heading out on a date and - being an old hopeless romantic - the boyfriend wants to do something special for his girlfriend.

He decides that he'll take her out for the night, including a stop off at where it all began for them.

Unfortunately, due to the changing landscape of dating in this wretched millennium, that means that they ended up making an impromptu stop at the head office of dating app giant Tinder.

Yes, that's right. Tinder HQ.

Not quite the top of the Eiffel Tower, or the beautiful piazzas of Rome - but it's the thought that counts, right?

Hey, it's funnier, for sure.

The couple in question are 20-year-old Annika and her doting boyfriend Wyatt, 24.

They're like pretty much every couple. They enjoy making terrible jokes together, love to travel and have adventures, and they're both devoted almost exclusively to wearing Crocs on their feet.

Yep, just a totally normal, Croc-obsessed couple, really. Try not to hold that against them.

They really like Crocs.

Anyway, on their trip, Wyatt and Annika went to see up-and-coming pop punk band Belmont in Los Angeles.

On the way, however, Wyatt had one special detour planned. Well, actually, not planned at all. That's the best thing about love, though. It's spontaneous.

Annika told LADbible: "We've been together about two years. We were both from Clovis, California and matched up on Tinder."

She continued: "We were in Los Angeles for a Belmont concert and when we were walking to the venue we saw the Tinder sign and it was his idea to take the picture.

"We just thought it would be funny."

They did actually go for a date to the concert afterwards.

If you've seen the pictures - and it's probably just for effect - Annika doesn't seem to have found it that funny. That expression doesn't instantly scream romantic surprise, does it?

However, we can rest assured that she was in on the joke.

Annika continued: "I thought the picture was funny! We both had no idea the building was there so it was kind of a surprise for both of us. I wasn't annoyed, it was a joke!

"We're always making jokes and laughing, so this was pretty normal for us."

As for meeting up on Tinder, Annika explained: "I don't think either of us were on Tinder very long before we met, but it took us a while to go from kind of casually seeing each other to being exclusive. Worth the wait.

"I always recommend Tinder to my friends when they want to meet someone, but I tell them a million times to be careful, because it can be unsafe. It just worked out really well for us.

"I got lucky!"

Aww, that's nice.

However, she did add: "I tend to tell people we met at Starbucks where he used to work, because people can be a little judging about Tinder"

Fair enough.

Anyway, after the photo, they went onto the concert at the famous Sunset Strip venue The Roxy Club. That's a romantic enough excursion for any couple, right?

Then, following their trip, Wyatt shared the picture onto Reddit's r/Tinder board for a laugh and it's since taken off in a big way.

What's really amazing is that people actually meet on Tinder at all.

It's been upvoted more than 60,000 times and around 2,000 people have offered their thoughts on the photos.

One Redditor said: "She looks like she's ready to go back in and start swiping right again."

Another said: "This is a really nice picture of y'all two and I thought the title was pretty funny."

However, one other user asked the question that we're all asking: "Wait, people actually meet other people on tinder? I think mine is broken."
