Daniel Craig fans are in hysterics over his response to the latest suggestion about the next James Bond.

Daniel Craig stars in his fifth and final Bond movie No Time To Die this September, with Rami Malek as the villain. Ahead of that, there's a lot of talk about who will carry the torch after him. If you fancy a Bond marathon ahead of that, here's how to watch Daniel Craig's Bond movies in order.

Some of the bookie's favourites for the next 007 are Tom Hardy, Idris Elba and Rege-Jean Page, with former Bond actor Pierce Brosnan backing Elba and Hardy.

But among the more out-there suggestions is The Greatest Showman's Hugh Jackman - and it's safe to say the millionaire Craig wasn't a supporter.

During an interview on ITV's Lorraine, Craig was asked about Hugh Jackman telling him to enjoy his days of playing 007, to which he cut in with: "He's not gonna be it... over my dead body," he said with a smirk as Lorraine Kelly giggled.

The clip from the interview has been trending on Twitter and Hugh Jackman himself retweeted it with the response: "Well ... that kills that rumor! Daniel, mate, you'll always be 007 to me. #NoTimeToDie. I'm IN." Jackman's response has been retweeted more than 1,300 times.

But before you think there's bad blood between the two actors, Craig was actually talking about how much Jackman has supported him with his new-found fame when he became Bond. So clearly they're mates, obviously enough to diss each other on national television.

"He just allowed me to sort of relax into it a bit more," Craig told Lorraine Kelly.

"He's been famous for longer than I have and [he said] 'just enjoy it' and a switch went off in my head and I went, 'oh okay yeah'. Because it's fun, it's great, and when people like you how nice is that?"

During the interview, Craig spoke about his emotional goodbye to the Bond character and the cast and crew he'd grown so close to during the 15 years of playing 007. "I shall be forever grateful for them," he said.

A little later, Kelly asked him who he thought would be the next James Bond. She said, "You know that everybody's now going 'who's going to be next?' Hugh Jackman told you to just enjoy it..."

At this point, Craig interrupted and said "He's not going to be it... Over my dead body."

After getting the giggles at Craig's sarcy response, she continued: "He said to you 'enjoy' - would you say that to whoever the next [Bond] may be?"

Craig replied: "Enjoy it... and just stick your head down, get on with the work, do the best you can.

"That's what I said to myself and just said 'look, all I can do is my best. If it doesn't work, swing and a miss, I'll move on.' Fingers crossed that it works out for the next person and it will only go up. It will only get better."

Daniel Craig is the longest-serving Bond actor to date, having starred in Bond movies for more than 15 years. However, by the number of movies starred in, Roger Moore is considered the longest-serving Bond actor.
