Piers Morgan has been announced as the new host on TalkTV - Rupert Murdoch's new channel. Here's everything you need to know.

After he stormed off the set of Good Morning Britain in March, nobody knew what the controversial columnist would do next. Turns out, he's going back to the place which started his career - News Corporation, Ruper Murdoch's media empire.

Announcing his move on Twitter, the 56-year-old said:

"BREAKING: I've gone home. Great to be rejoining Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation after 28 years. The place I started my media career, with the boss who gave me my first big break. We're going to have a lot of fun...."

"Piers is the broadcaster every channel wants but is too afraid to hire," said Murdoch.

"Piers is a brilliant presenter, a talented journalist and says what people are thinking and feeling."

TalkTV Launch Date

The new channel will feature news, sports and entertainment shows and is set to rival the recently launched GB News.

An exact date hasn't been announced yet, but it's set to launch in early 2022.
