Aaron Paul was spotted filming in UK for Black Mirror season 6

The actor is rumoured to star in a sequel to one of Black Mirror's most iconic episodes

Production for the sixth season of Black Mirror appears to be underway after Aaron Paul was spotted filming for the iconic Netflix series in the UK.

The Breaking Bad and Bojack Horseman star is set to appear in the first episode of the new season alongside Kate Mara.

The two Hollywood stars have been seen filming scenes around Rye, East Sussex for Charlie Brooker's anthology series.

Though not much is known yet about Aaron and Kate's Black Mirror episode, Aaron has been pictured wearing some pretty dated clothing on-set, with a classic pick-up truck - so it looks like it might be set a little while back.

Locals in Rye have told The Sun that the Black Mirror crew were quick about remodelling the town for filming.

"Parking bays were suspended and film crew began clearing the road of anything that identified the place as an English town", said one resident.

"We saw American road signs going up and crates of boxes and fishing nets being unloaded around the cafe opposite Mermaid Street.

"They made the cafe look like an angling shop and turned the antiques shop into a book shop. Everyone could see what was happening, it was all very exciting. Then Aaron Paul and Kate Mara arrived and we knew it was for Black Mirror."

Black Mirror fans have been waiting three years for a new season to drop, and have been especially impatient since season five consisted of just three episodes.

The beloved series is known not only for its thought-provoking, high-stress, technology-inspired storylines, but its impressive cast.

Fans have been waiting since 2019 for a new season of Black Mirror.

Last season starred the likes of Anthony Mackie (Iron Man), Yahya Abdul-Mateen (Aquaman), Pom Klementieff (Guardians of the Galaxy), Andrew Scott (Fleabag), Topher Grace (That 70s Show), and Miley Cyrus.

According to Variety, the new season is set to star Aaron Paul, Kate Mara, Zazie Beetz, Paapa Essiedu, Josh Hartnett, Danny Ramirez, Clara Rugaard, Auden Thornton, and Anjana Vasan, in the first three episodes, with more actors set to join for the rest of the season.

There are already theories about Aaron Paul's episode, since the Westworld actor has actually already appeared in Black Mirror before.

Don't remember?

It was a blink and you'll miss it cameo in arguably one of the best episodes of the series; 'USS Calllister'.

The season four episode starred Jesse Plemons as the under-appreciated CTO of a tech company, who is secretly building his own Star Trek-inspired universe by night, commanding his own starship with a crew he created with the DNA of his co-workers.

Aaron Paul had a cameo in season four's USS Callister.

At the very end of the high-stakes episode, the crew managed to stage a successful mutiny against their captain, and Cristin Milioti's character Nanette takes over.

As they take off into outer space to go on their own adventures, a player named Gamer691 gets in touch with them, and he is voiced by the instantly recognisable Aaron Paul.

Could this mean Aaron's next appearance in the series will be a 'USS Callister' follow-up?

We'll just have to sit tight and find out!

Unfortunately, since the first episodes of season 6 are just being filmed now, there's no way it'll be on Netflix before the end of the year. It looks like we might be waiting until late 2023 before we get to sink our teeth into this one.
