Sydney turns pink ahead of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie premiere.

Well, it seems that Bondi has proclaimed that pink is the new black as it welcomes A-listers from the highly awaited flick.

Yesterday (June 29), Sydney’s infamous Bondi Icebergs Club was rocking a new look while hosting the film’s press conference before the Westfield at Pitt fan event today.

So, Sydneysiders, the pink carpet is here to stay for a week.

Margot Robbie was in attendance as she discussed the film’s important message with a female lead at the helm, as per ABC News.

"Obviously, I want the movie to do well because we all worked so hard, and we love it so much," Robbie told reporters, according to the outlet.

"But I think it is important when a movie like this does do well.

"If Wonder Woman hadn't done what Wonder Woman had done, I don't know if people would have given us the budget we got."

The Aussie added that while pitching the film, she tried to cite comparisons, although there weren’t many.

"..It's important to have them. It makes a difference on the business side of things to have those comps and have the proof in the pudding that they've made money,” she continued.

The Wolf of Wall Street actor, also serving as the film’s producer, proved just how business savvy she is, noting that she saw an opening when Barbie’s intellectual property was floating around.

"So, we've been keeping tabs on the property. And when there seemed like there was an opening, we kind of jumped at the opportunity,” she explained.

Recently, Robbie also revealed how she fought hard to have Aqua’s iconic ‘Barbie’ song in the film.

She told Rolling Stone: “I was like, ‘Greta, how are we going to incorporate this song? We can’t do a Barbie movie and not have a nod to Aqua’s 'Barbie Girl'.”

According to the A-lister from Down Under, Gerwig assured the film's star that she'd 'find a cool way to incorporate it'.

And it seems she did!

A remix of the 1997 hit dropped on June 22 with Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice crooning over the track.

Barbie will rollerskate in cinemas July 20, 2023.
