Adele admits she nearly died to a lightning strike when she was younger

We very nearly had to live in a world without Adele, luckily that's not the case

Adele has revealed that she almost died when she was younger after having a close brush with a lightning strike.

The singer began her five month residency at the Colosseum in Caesar's Palace last week and she's been filling the venue with her legions of devoted fans.

While on stage Adele has been thanking fans for 'coming back' after her show which was due to start back in January was postponed for almost a year after so many of the team involved in putting the show together came down with Covid-19.

Adele opened her residency in tears as she addressed her fans, telling them 'I should be giving you a standing ovation' and telling them they'd made the whole thing 'perfect'.

The singer has also been opening up on a few moments from her life, including one part where she nearly died after narrowly avoiding a bolt of lightning.

According to the Daily Mirror, Adele said that when she was younger she was nearly struck by lightning during a storm, but luckily was able to walk away unharmed and thinking the brush with death was 'f***ing hilarious'.

The singer has been wowing the crowds in Vegas.

She explained that when she was out with her cousins when they got stuck in a 'massive storm' where it 'poured with rain', so they all decided to take shelter from the storm beneath a tree.

However, things nearly ended up going very badly wrong for Adele as she almost got fried after the tree 'got hit by lightning', luckily everybody survived and she gets to look back on it and laugh these days.

By the way, if you ever find yourself stuck in a lightning storm then definitely don't do what Adele did and stand under a tree, it's the second most likely way to get zapped to death.

Adele's legions of fans will be very glad she got out of that one unscathed, especially those who witnessed her incredible disappearing act at the end of her performance as she vanished in a shower of confetti.

Fans have been as baffled by the disappearing act to cap off Adele's shows as they are impressed by the spectacle.

While plenty reckon there's some sort of trapdoor for Adele to vanish through, nobody could spot the exact moment the singer disappeared even when watching in slow motion.

Adele will be in Vegas until March.

The singer is really devoted to her fans, recently stopping a Vegas concert so she could give an upgrade to the fans sitting in the 'worst seats in the house', calling out to a pair stuck in the 'nosebleed seats' who didn't have a great view of her show.

Bringing the fans down to the front, she got them seated right in front of the stage in a much better spot where they could see things much better.

By the way, they're called 'nosebleed seats' because mountain climbers are meant to get nosebleeds at high altitudes, and being on one of those seats feels like you're trying to watch the show from atop a mountain.

'Weekends with Adele' began on 18 November in Las Vegas and will continue on through till 25 March, 2023.
