A new season of a ‘twisted’ TV show called ‘Skins for adults’ will release its new episodes for free for the first time in its four-season run.
Being called an ‘adult version of Skins’ is a high bar to live up to, with the show starring teenagers showing them doing some of the most adult things you can possibly imagine.
But with Succession ending in 2023, and Stranger Things coming to a close late last year, the title of the ‘best show on TV’ is still very much up for grabs.

With The Guardian giving the new season five stars and calling it ‘twisted top tier television’, it looks like Industry could take the crown - the show is one of the best reviewed series around right now, and easily the best series to be four seasons into its run.
What is Industry about and why is it dubbed ‘Skins for adults?’

Industry started out as a show following four young graduates getting their start at a brutal fictitious finance firm called Pierpoint.
Starring Myha’la, Ken Leung and Marisa Abela, the cast was later joined by Kit Harrington in season three, with Stranger Things actor Charlie Heaton joining the fourth and newest season.

The show, written by two former bankers, exposes the debauchery, drugs and drinking of the financial world, taking things way further than even Skins ever did.
One viral post on Reddit coined the term ‘Skins for adults’, but also pointed out that where Skins glorifies the debauchery, Industry spends a great deal of the show digging into the awful effects it can have on your life no matter how fun it looks.
What’s different about season four and why is it the ‘best show on TV?’
Industry had a slightly slow start to life, with season one sitting at just 76 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. The subsequent seasons have all ranked in the high 90s, however, as it has evolved into arguably the best show on TV.
Whilst Apple TV+ shows like Pluribus and Severance are fierce competition for the title, these are early on in their lifespan and nowhere near as developed a show as Industry is by season four.

Speaking about the new season in The Guardian’s five star review, Hannah J Davies said: “It may only be January, but you already know this banking drama is going to be one of the year’s best shows – a daring, debauched and jaw-dropping treat.”
In addition to this, in fantastic news for fans from the United Kingdom, the show’s fourth season has aired simultaneously on BBC iPlayer in the UK at the same time it was released on HBO in the United States, with the first episode available to watch now. We'll get new episodes of Industry every Monday, which will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Season four focuses once again on Myha’la’s Harper, an investment banker now running her own firm who becomes involved with a payment processing company that mostly works with gambling and porn sites run by The Social Network star Max Minghella.
Add to that a returning Kit Harrington and Maria Abela, Charlie Heaton as a snooping journalist, and additional new stars in Kal Penn and Kiernan Shipka, and the show seems to have found its stride.

Before the days of streaming, shows like Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad took a couple of seasons to find their feet and more importantly, an audience, but with stellar reviews, a heightened fan buzz, and it being easier than it has been in years to watch in the UK, Industry could be set to become one of the biggest shows on TV.
