Footage shows Brendan Fraser 'choking up' as a fan assures him that everyone is 'rooting' for him in his new film role, following news that he had been cast alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert DeNiro in Martin Scorsese's forthcoming movie Killers of the Flower Moon.

A TikToker named Lindley (@littlelottiecosplay) had the joy of speaking to Fraser after making a 'very last minute meet-and-greet purchase' through GalaxyCon Live, which connects fans with celebrities via video calls.

After speaking to the star for two minutes, Lindley concluded that he was the 'purest soul', having been able to chat to him about his forthcoming role.

In the footage of their exchange, Fraser tells her: "I'm going to work with Scorsese and Leo and Bob DeNiro."

Lindley - who had dressed up as Evie from The Mummy for the occasion - congratulates him, saying the news is 'so exciting'.

Fraser replies: "Thank you, I think I might be sick! A little anxious. I mean, it's going to be fun, but I'm like [pretends to chew fingernails]."

Lindley then says: "You've got this. You've got this. Just know that the internet is so behind you. We're so supportive. There are so many people out there who love you, and we're rooting for you. And we can't wait to see what you do next."

Fraser smiles, before coyly taking a swig of water as he seemingly chokes up.

"Shucks, ma'am," he says, rearranging his hat.

After being posted on TikTok, where it has been viewed 1.3 million times, the clip has been shared on various other social media platforms.

Writing on Twitter, someone said: "Seeing Brendan get choked up after being told that everyone online is behind him and excited for his new project I'm- [three crying emojis]."

Lindley also posted the clip on Instagram, where she wrote: "Thank you @galaxyconlive for making this dream come true. THE MUMMY has been such a huge part of my life, so being able to meet Brendan Fraser is a memory I will treasure forever.

"And if anyone needs proof that this man is the purest of souls, here it is! He came ready with a rose, a hat-change, and as soon as he saw what I was wearing, he said 'Evie, the years have been good to you!'

"Just the sweetest man, and pardon my awkwardness, but I wanted to let him know how much the internet loves him, in case he was not already aware."
