Eddie Murphy is set to welcome his 10th child, following the confirmation that his girlfriend Paige Butcher is currently pregnant.

The two already have a two-year-old daughter called Izzy, but Murphy also has eight other children from previous relationships.

A rep confirmed that Butcher was pregnant with Murphy's child to Entertainment Tonight, who reported that the baby is due in December.

Butcher and Murphy have been dating since 2012, welcoming their first child in 2016.

When daughter Izzy was three months old, Murphy said he wasn't fussed about the large age gap between his children - the eldest of whom was approaching 30 at the time.

"They're grown, I wouldn't say 'old'," he said in a 2016 interview with Entertainment Tonight.

"None of my children are gray and balding."

He also said that he wouldn't change a thing, as his children were a huge part of his life.

"The brightest part of my life is my kids," he added.

"My world revolves around them - even the old, gray bald ones," he joked.

The actor and comedian also has five children with ex-wife Nicole Mitchel: 28-year-old Bria, 25-year-old Myles, 23-year-old Shayne, 18-year-old Zola and 16-year-old Bella.

He has also fathered son Eric, 29, with ex-girlfriend Paulette McNeely, and another son called Christian, 27, with ex-girlfriend Tamara Hood.

Murphy also has an 11-year-old daughter called Angel, whose mother is Spice Girl Mel B, aka Melanie Brown.

After news emerged that Brown was pregnant with Murphy's child, he used a TV interview to announce that their relationship had actually ended, much to her surprise - and that he'd be demanding a paternity test to prove it was actually his.

Brown was shocked by the bombshell, telling OK! Magazine at the time that they had been 'soulmates'.

"A friend of mine called me to tell me. I was shocked, then I felt disgusted. We were madly in love with each other, and then this happens," she told the magazine.

"I tried to call Eddie and I couldn't get through. Then I got through, and he said he would call me back and that was it. He never called back."

She added: "I don't feel humiliated. I think the only person who has humiliated themselves is Eddie. His behavior was unacceptable.

"Maybe one day Eddie will tell me why this happened."

In the 10 years since, the two have remained fairly tight-lipped about what went on, though it did later transpire that Murphy was indeed the father.
