If you fancy feeling old, then let me be the one to tell you that Erik Per Sullivan - better known as Dewey from Malcolm in the Middle - is 30.

Which, I think, means I should be drawing my pension next week.

Baby-faced Erik hit our screens in the early 2000s, playing the youngest brother in the dysfunctional Wilkerson family alongside older brothers Francis (played by Christopher Kennedy Masterson), Reece (Justin Berfield) and Malcolm (played by Frankie Muniz).

He became the second youngest child in season four when parents Hal (Bryan Cranston) and Lois (Jane Kaczmarek) had a fifth son named Jamie.

The hit comedy ran for seven seasons, wrapping in 2006 when Erik was just 14 years old.

But of course, time marches on and Erik is no longer the adorable little hellraiser he was in the hit comedy show - having recently celebrated his third decade on the planet last month.

Since the show ended, the 30-year-old actor has had a few other roles, including playing Timmy in the movie Twelve, which also starred 50 Cent and Zoe Kravitz.

However, much like his fictional siblings, it's quite likely he'll remain best known for his Malcolm in the Middle character.

Since his last movie role, Erik has kept a pretty low profile.

When co-star Frankie shared photos from a reunion back in 2012 Erik was absent, with Justin holding up a photo of the photo of their missing on screen brother.

However, Frankie has previously hinted he would be keen for a reboot of the show.

Tweeting all the way back in 2019, Frankie said: "All these reboots of dumb ass TV shows, yet we still have no idea what Malcolm is up to."

Which was more than enough to get fans very excited at the idea of a follow up series.

One person responded: "OMG. I would love a reboot/all grown up Malcolm in the Middle show."

Another wrote: "The only reboot that really matters. this NEEDS to happen."

A third agreed, saying: "Malcolm in the Middle is my favourite show of all time. I 100% back this idea up."

While another joked: "Malcolm in the Midlife Crisis."
