Have we been missing something this entire time, or does Conor McGregor have more in common with Peaky Blinders than we ever thought possible?

Let's take a look at it: McGregor has got a very strong, no-shits-given kind of attitude and he's a bit of a law breaker (as we saw back in April when he threw a trolley at a bus) - let's face it he's pretty good at being bad.

Now what about Thomas Shelby: He's not afraid of a good old punch up, looks bloody smashing in a tweed suit flat cap combo and has a son - they might as well be related. Did someone say long lost brothers?

Whatever they have in common, Conor has made people speculate whether he could show up in the next season of Peaky Blinders - with the new episodes due to be aired in 2019 - after a cheeky post on social media.

He
also looks like he's in familiar territory, as the final episode of the show saw Tommy Shelby meet with Luca Changretta and Co. inside nowhere else but Tommy's basement distillery full of wooden barrels.

You heard it here first, guys. Don't blame us if it's a load of crap either. One fan said: "You should get an acting role in Peaky Blinders, that would be awesome".

While another added: "The McGregors is definitely a good rivalry family for Shelby's to go up against."

A third wrote: "Peaky Blinders bosses should definitely get Conor on as a guest appearance? The Shelby's v The McGregors".

It would be interesting to see, if he did get a cameo, whether his character would be Irish, or if the UFC fighter would have to give a different accent a go.

Another person on social media disagreed with the fans supporting his full inclusion in the show, saying: "It would be stupid to have him as a main antagonist or main anything. He would be really cool in the show though but just as an ally for an episode or two."

It's doubtful that the BBC programme would feature McGregor given his recent behaviour over the pond when he was filmed attacking a bus carrying fighters in New York City - but never say never.

He was charged with three counts of assault following an altercation at the Barclay Center.

And we're not all that bothered about the show being McGregor-less because we just want it back.
