Yesterday singer Billie Eilish revealed she'd changed her distinctive green and black barnet and showed off a new blond hairdo.
However, fans are reeling after Eilish let slip that she'd actually changed her hair a while back, and had simply been rocking a green and black wig for the past couple of months. Some people are now convinced that the 19-year-old has been wearing a wig this whole time.
Eilish posted a clip to TikTok revealing that she'd had her new hair cleverly concealed under a wig designed to look like her old hairstyle.
In the comments she said she'd been hiding her blond locks for 'like two months'.
But some fans believe she could have been fooling us all for longer, and that her brightly coloured tresses were a wig all along.
One person tweeted: "The fact that Billie Eilish's green hair was a wig all along has increased my trust issues by 1000%."
Another wrote: "You're telling me Bills has been wearing a wig all along - green roots Billie wasn't real? The betrayal."
A third wrote: "Please let's all just focus on 1. Billie was wearing a wig all along and 2. how hot she looks with blonde hair."
But it's bad news for wig-based conspiracy theorists, as her hairdresser Lissa Renn uploaded a clip of the singer sat in the stylist's chair while her hair went from black and green to blonde.
However, Renn has since deleted the clip, which will surely add a bit of fuel to the fire.
Speaking in December last year, Eilish joked with fans that she wouldn't release any new music until they stopped teasing her about her hair.
In an Instagram Live, she could be heard laughing before she said: "Stop making fun of me - my God.
"I am making you a f***ing album.
"I will not put it out if you keep making fun of my hair. Shut up."
She went on to say she would be giving her hair a makeover after her documentary The World's A Little Blurry was released.
Eilish added: "I'm changing it after the doc comes out - it'll be the end of an era. I'm going to give you a new era.
"I have announcements to make. I've got some s*** to put out.
"Anyway, doesn't matter. Leave me alone, let me live with my f***ing hair that I've had for way too long."
The World's A Little Blurry was released in February and, true to her word, Eilish does indeed have a new hairstyle.
