It seems Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner is already moving on from her on-screen alter-ego of Sansa Stark, shedding the giant fur capes and red hair in favour of blonde locks and a bikini.

The 21-year-old couldn't look more different in the promo shots for her new film, Josie, where she's seen hanging out on a sun lounger next to a pool.

In the thriller, Turner plays Josie, an edgy, tattooed character with a dark past. She arrives in a small town and strikes up relationships with local lads Marcus (Jack Kilmer) and her neighbour Hank (Dylan McDermott), which lands her at the centre of hot gossip - though her true intentions for arriving in the town are far more sinister than the local folk first realise.

The film, which comes from filmmaker Eric England, is due to be released in March, and is also set to open the inaugural Mammoth Film Festival. The event is being billed as a 'mini Sundance', according to Variety, so it looks to be a fairly big deal.

And even aside from her new flick Josie, it looks like it's going to be a pretty big year or two for Turner - who not only has several other roles coming up, but is also getting hitched.

Turner recently announced that she's getting married to 28-year-old musician Joe Jonas, after they were first spotted together at the 2016 MTV European Music Awards when Joe was performing with his band. Both took to their Instagram pages to post a photo of Turner wearing a pear-shaped diamond engagement ring and matching eternity band. D'aww.

Then, of course, there's the final series of Game of Thrones on its way. Season 8 has already started filming in Northern Ireland, Croatia, and Iceland, and while we haven't got a release date for it, it will apparently be out towards the end of this year or at the start of 2019.

In an interview with Variety, the 21-year-old actress was asked about her busy 2018 - with GoT in progress and the November release of X-Men: Dark Phoenix on the horizon.

"I'm really excited," she said. "Game of Thrones comes out in 2019. Dark Phoenix is in November. Then I have a couple indie movies coming out. I'm a producer on my next movie [Girl Who Fell From the Sky]. So I'm really excited about the future."
