We all know there's a hell of a lot of money in Hollywood, but sometimes it's hard to fathom exactly how much a hell of a lot might be. This list should make it easier.

Released by Forbes magazine, the list is headed up by two strong bald men - Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson - who grossed $1.6 billion (£1.2bn) and $1.5bn (£1.1bn) in global ticket sales respectively.

Much of the reason for that was The Fate Of The Furious, the eighth installment of the Fast And The Furious franchise, which both actors co-star in.

The first film was released in 2001 and - unlike the majority of movie franchises that deteriorate in popularity over time - has gone from strength to strength.

The latest version of the franchise featured Gal Gadot, whose appearance in that in addition to Justice League and her eponymous role in Wonder Woman saw the Israeli actor hit the number three spot, having grossed a total of $1.4bn (£1bn). Interestingly, $820 million (£607m) of that apparently came from the latter movie.

Not far behind Gal Gadot was fourth place Emma Watson, whose gross of $1.3bn (£962m) was largely thanks to the live action remake of Disney's Beauty And The Beast. That movie, which came 26 years after Disney's animated original, banked $1.26m (£932,000) at the cinema, making it the largest grossing movie of the year so far - although it's possible (if unlikely) that Star Wars could overtake it in the next couple of days.

Rounding off the actors who grossed more than $1bn were Johnny Depp in fifth place - who grossed $1.1bn (£814m) thanks to his fifth time portraying Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which grossed almost $800m - and Daisy Ridley in sixth. Her appearance in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and the adaptation of Agatha Christie's Murder On The Orient Express took her tally to $1.08bn (£799m).

After her, Tom Holland was in seventh place with $888m (£657m) thanks to Spider-Man: Homecoming, while former Parks & Recreation goofball Chris Pratt continued his transition into one of Hollywood's elites, grossing $864m (£640m) thanks to Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2.

Behind him, Chris Hemsworth grossed $845m (£625m) thanks to Thor: Ragnarok, while John Boyega squeezed into tenth place thanks to The Last Jedi, as well as smaller roles in The Circle and Detroit, collecting $815m (£603m).
