If you're a fan of Game of Thrones then you'll know Jason Momoa for his depiction of Khal Drogo. If you're a fan of Aquaman, then you'll know him from his portrayal of Aquaman. And if you've never seen either, then you'll probably know Jason Momoa as that guy with a beard.

However, if you fall into the latter camp, then you will now only know Jason Momoa as that guy. That's because he has gone and shaved off his trademark beard... and no shit, he looks a lot different now.

The actor shared a video of the shearing on Instagram and said it was the first time since 2012 that he had taken a razor to his face. He made the bold move to raise awareness of plastic pollution and the importance of recycling.

The post read: "Goodbye DROGO, AQUAMAN, DECLAN, BABA New YouTube episode please subscribe and share this video. LINK in BIO . I'm SHAVING this beast off, It's time to make a change. A change for the better...for my kids, your kids, the world.

"Let's make a positive change for the health of our planet. Let's clean up our oceans our land. Join me on this journey. Let's make the switch to infinitely recyclable aluminium. Water in cans, not plastic."

Momoa shared a video of him shaving off his beard on Instagram and YouTube.

As you can see, he is now a very different looking, but still annoyingly handsome fella.

While there doesn't seem to be an obvious link between shaving your beard and saving the planet, Momoa has undoubtedly succeeded in his goal of raising awareness of plastic pollution, because the first thing you want to know when Jason Momoa shaves his beard is why...so well played Sir.

LADbible has claimed the world's first country made entirely of trash to highlight the issue of plastic pollution in our oceans.
