Vin Diesel's bond with Paul Walker's daughter Meadow is so strong that not only was he the person to walk her down the aisle at her wedding recently, but she's also the first person to wish him a happy Father's Day every year.

Vin Diesel, whose real name is Mark Sinclair, is the godfather of Meadow Walker, the 22-year-old daughter of his late Fast and Furious co-star Paul Walker.

Meadow recently tied the knot with actor Louis Thornton-Allan, having shared video footage and photos from their big day on social media.

In one snap, the bride could be seen being walked down the aisle by her Vin Diesel, who was wearing a light blue suit and shades.

The 54-year-old actor has previously spoken about how a sense of family isn't always something that has to be bound by blood - having revealed that Meadow always reaches out to him on Father's Day.

Speaking to ExtraTV back in June, the star was asked about how he takes care of Meadow.

He replied with a laugh: "She takes good care of me!"

The star added: "She's the first person on Father's Day to wish me a happy Father's Day."

Vin Diesel then went on to say that he loves seeing Meadow play with his daughter Pauline, who was named after his friend.

He continued: "To see her with my children is one of the most beautiful things. There are moments when I see her playing with Pauline, and it will hit me so deep because I can only imagine what my brother's seeing when he sees that.

"I feel very protective. It goes beyond the movie. The whole point of the Fast and Furious saga is the idea that brotherhood can be created by bond and not necessarily blood."

In another interview with TODAY, Vin Diesel also credited this 'family' atmosphere around the Fast and Furious franchise for why it has been such a success.

He said: "That's ultimately what the true blessing is, work with people that you love.

"I believe, at the end of the day, people come to Fast because the characters, we want to know what happens next. We want to know how they evolve."

When host Natalie Morales said Walker was 'never forgotten' in the film series, Vin Diesel replied: "Ever, ever, ever,

"I never think I'm continuing the franchise in his absence. I always feel like I'm continuing the franchise in his honour."
