Comedian Sarah Millican left This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield horrified today when she regaled them with an anecdote about her dog's poo during lockdown.

Millican appeared on the daytime TV show via video link, telling Willoughby and Schofield about how her pet had fallen ill with a dodgy tum during lockdown.

As many businesses and services were forced to operate a little differently earlier in the year due to the pandemic, Millican and her husband found that they had to improvise a little when it came to providing a sample for the vet to take a look at.

"We've got a little dog and he's adorable but sometimes he has a bad tummy," she said.

"Normally you go to the vet, you'd have an appointment, you get a little sample pot that you have to fill in.

"This time we rang the vet, and he said, 'Use a tub from home'.

"So we had to find the tub in the kitchen with a lid that matched, which is, as you know, quite tricky anyway. Then had to fill that over the course of a few days."

She explained how she and husband Gary Delaney decided to keep the, ahem, specimen in the vegetable crisper, their rationale being that it was 'always empty'.

Schofield, however, didn't look quite so convinced, covering his mouth in horror.

But he was soon to learn that this wasn't the end of the grim tale - oh, no.

As the two presenters giggled away, Millican continued:"We took it to the vet but we didn't want to go during opening hours because we didn't want to mix with people.

"So we went at one in the morning, brilliant idea, forgot that there was a massive fence and a gate that would be locked. So we had to throw it over the fence!

"The only tub we could find that had a matching lid that clicked safely because had to go in the fridge for a few days... written on the top 'chicken casserole for Sarah'.

"Clearly it had been in the freezer at some point. If somebody found it called Sarah... Oh, what a lovely delivery!"

The even more concerning bit? Apparently this incident ended up 'influencing' her new stage show... *grimaces*
