Alan Ritchson has spoken out on Instagram after a 'crazy week' which saw footage of him beating up his neighbour go viral, as well as footage which was released later showing his perspective on the fight.

Ritchson, who is best known for being the star of Reacher and Neflix's War Machine, had previously posted on Instagram with a vague response in which he shared a Napoleon quote saying you should 'never interrupt your enemy when they are making a mistake' following his neighbour Ronnie Taylor releasing an interview in which he blamed the fight on the actor.

Yesterday, 24 March, however footage which appeared to originate from Ritchson's chest mounted camera showed his perspective on the incident, with Taylor shown standing in front of his motorbike in the middle of the road and pushing the actor before he retaliated, striking his neighbour in the face.

The video shows Taylor accusing Ritchson of 'driving around like a f*cking lunatic', however the newly released footage show that the actor was driving at 25 miles per hour.

After his neighbour stands in front of the celebrity's bike, causing him to fall off, the actor is captured saying: "Are you f**king kidding me, bro? Stand in front of a f**king bike again, dude. You threatened my f**king safety, bro."

After standing in front of his bike for a second time he falls off again, and when getting up Taylor pushes him. He then strikes his neighbour several times, saying: "Are you f**king out of your god damn mind?

"Stay down. Are you f**king stupid? Jesus Christ."

Last night it was announced that police had dropped the investigation into Ritchson after a previous update had stated they were looking into the incident following footage showed him punching his neighbour several times.

In an official statement to TMZ, the Brentwood Police Department said: "After reviewing available evidence, including video footage and witness statements, authorities determined that no criminal charges will be pursued.

"Mr. Ritchson’s actions were found to be in self-defense."

The statement went on to confirm that Ritchson himself was asked about pursuing charges, saying: "Although a potential reckless endangerment charge was considered, Mr. Ritchson declined to pursue charges.

"With the agreement of the District Attorney’s Office, the case is now closed, and no further action will be taken."

Ritchson took to Instagram to share a video of him working on post-production for the newest season of Reacher.

Whilst the video itself did not feature any direct references to his scrap with Taylor, the caption alluded to the ongoing viral situation, saying: "Happy to be back in the booth after such a crazy week!

"That’s a wrap for me on post-production — Reacher Season 4.

"This is, without a doubt the most gripping season yet. I think we hit our stride. Firing on all cylinders… as it were."

The post has also drawn support for Ritchson from his fans, with one popular comment saying: "We love u Brother."

Another said: "Dude gets into real life reacher mode in real life, gains 200,000 followers, cleared by the police, 2 days later drops reacher season 4 reacher teaser lol."
