American musician gets brutal response after shouting ‘Hello London’ from balcony

Bebe Rexha was recently given a real London welcome

An American pop star got a proper British welcome when she tried to film a video for her social media channels.

A lot is said about the cultural differences between Brits and our neighbours across the pond, so it's always funny to see the clashes in real-time.

Brits are known for dry humour, sarcasm, and soul-crushing realism when it comes to the vast majority of situations, while we view Americans as star-eyed, over-optimistic beings who are a tad bit too jolly from time to time.

It's just the way the cookie crumbles.

Yet, people from both countries like to cross the Atlantic to see what life is like on the other side, though some of these experiences can produce some golden moments.

Artist Bebe Rexha was part of one of these, as she recently got a rude awakening on her latest trip to London.

Panning across the London skyline from the balcony of her hotel, the 36-year-old could be heard joyfully singing: “Back in London town, we’re back in London town.”

She then yelled: "Hello London!"

Someone then responded, shouting: "Shut up!" to a shocked Rexha.

Real name Bleta Rexha, the US singer was completely caught off guard and covered her mouth in shock, squealing with embarrassment before heading back into her room.

The 'Me, Myself & I' artist adopted a sarcastic tone for the caption of her viral clip, writing on Instagram: “Feeling the love in London!”

Fellow artist Saweetie was in the comments section of the video, seemingly seeing the funny side in all of it as she spammed some laughing emojis in response.

British singer Rita Ora even wrote: "Not shut up lol I’m dead."

A different user commented: "Sounds JUST like london," with a laughing emoji, as another said: "LONDON HAS ENTERED THE CHAT."

A third made sure to point out: "Promise not all the UK folks aren’t like this Bebe."

Last week, Rexha released her latest track, 'Çike Çike', as the opening track to her fourth studio album Dirty Blonde.

She then released the visual for the track this week, with the song that celebrates her Albanian heritage.

The latest activity on her social accounts shows that she was also recently in Paris, so it isn't clear exactly when she got shouted at by a disgruntled Londoner.

But we're sure that the next time the pop star is here, she won't be jumping at the opportunity to be as jovial as she was this time around.

We appreciate the effort though, Bebe.
