"Drawing from his own experience living with cerebral palsy, Mitte brought authenticity to the role and built a platform on disability awareness and inclusion. Beyond entertaining friends and family around the world, he served as an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children’s."
The rep added: “At this time, we ask people to respect the privacy of RJ Mitte’s family and close ones.

No cause of death has been confirmed.
Mitte was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when he was three-years-old and used his fame to raise awareness about the condition.
Mitte moved to Hollywood in 2006 and sought out acting roles where his disability could educate viewers.
He made early-career appearances in Everybody Hates Chris and Hannah Montana.
But it was his role as Walter White Jr - a character that had cerebral palsy - in Breaking Bad that would catapult Mitte to worldwide fame.
He appeared in more than 50 episodes of the show across its run from 2008-2013.
His performance, which won him the SAG-AFTRA Harold Russell Award, has been credited with helping to bring awareness to the condition.
During a recent appearance on the The Joe Vulpis Podcast, Mitte opened up about his role on the AMC drama.
“My character Walt Jr. was based on a real person, a friend of [Breaking Bad creator] Vince Gilligan in college who had cerebral palsy, who used forearm crutches and sometime after passed away,” he explained.
“So it really felt real playing this character and getting into the groove with this character.”

After Breaking Bad wrapped up in 2013, Mitte went on to star in several other projects on both the big and small screen, including Vegas, Switched at Birth, The Guardians of Justice and The Recall.
His most recent role was playing Fitz in the 2025 movie Westhampton.
He was also an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and a Screen Actors Guild spokesman for actors with disabilities.
Alongside that, he was president of his own charity, the Mitte Foundation, which supported various philanthropic efforts and aimed to change perceptions about people living with disabilities.
Last October, Mitte announced that he had got engaged to his partner Kennedy Suarez after five-years of dating.
In a statement shared with PEOPLE at the time, Mitte said: "I'm thrilled to have found my person, my partner in life who makes me want to be better, no matter what we're doing.
"Kennedy is my everything and I can't wait to officially start our life together and see what adventures life takes us on next."
