Hilariously short time it takes Taylor Swift to earn Brock Purdy's entire 'low' NFL salary

Hilariously short time it takes Taylor Swift to earn Brock Purdy's entire 'low' NFL salary

Super Bowl LVIII will be one of the most-watched in history

It's all eyes on Super Bowl LVIII as one of the biggest sporting events of the year finally arrives.

Sunday, 11 February will see the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the San Fransisco 49ers in a battle for the NFL's famous Lombardi Trophy at Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium.

It'll be an occasion that millions tune in to see, some for the sport and many others for the likes of the famous halftime show. And let's not forget the small matter of a certain extremely famous pop star girlfriend in the crowd.

Then you've got the insanely expensive adverts with an A-list cast that serve as quick, well-polished breaks from everything going on.

All in all, it's an event that everyone can take something from, with it going so much further beyond a simple game of American football.

A lot of talk has centred around Taylor Swift and if she can make it in time to watch her boyfriend Travis Kelce play for the Chiefs.

The pop star is currently in Japan on her Era Tour, with the last concert the day before the Super Bowl on 10 February.

Thankfully for Swift, the time difference is in her favour meaning the more than 12 hours it takes to get Vegas should be manageable.

It also helps that she is a literal billionaire with two private planes. It's just not as difficult as it might be when the hardest decision is choosing which jet to take.

Her financial situation is a far cry from the man hoping to stop the Kelce family celebrating another Super Bowl win.

Brock Purdy is the man playing at quarterback for the 49ers but with him still at the very beginning of his career, let's just say his earnings don't match up with his ability.

Don't get us wrong, he still earns seriously great money. As it stands, Purdy is in the second year of a four-year deal worth $3.74 million.

That's $935,000 a year. To ordinary people it's life-changing. To an NFL star, its among one of the lowest wages in the entire league never mind his own team.

Swift's beau Travis Kelce, who is nowhere near the top earner in the league, earns $14.3 million a year as part of a four-year deal worth $57.25 million.

It's an amount that means Kelce earns more in a third of a year than Purdy will for his whole four year contract.

Then there's Swift herself and the numbers are utterly out of this world.

The 'Bad Blood' singer is a self-made billionaire through her many successes in the music industry.

And it is touring where she is currently making the most money.

On her current global Eras Tour, it has been reported by Forbes that Swift earns a completely ridiculous $10 million to $13 million per concert.

Her shows run for three hours, meaning she earns more than $1,000 every single second that she is working on stage.

By LADbible's calculations, that means Swift only has to be on stage for just more than an hour at her gig the day before the Super Bowl - 63 minutes to be precise - to earn what Purdy will earn his entire four year deal.

For every year of his contract, it's less than 16 minutes of stage time.
