Busy Phillipps responds to comments she is 'living on borrowed time' following rare brain tumour diagnosis

Dawson's Creek favourite Busy Philipps has fired shots at a publication over its coverage of her health issues.

Back in February of this year, the 47-year-old was diagnosed with a rare type of brain tumour - Grade 2 oligodendroglioma - which she had successfully removed the next month.

Since Philipps went public with the news, media outlets are circling the story, yet Globe Magazine appears to have gone way too far in its brazen approach by suggesting she's now 'living on borrowed time'.

Posting a screenshot of an email she received from her publicist onto Instagram today, the TV star (also known for Freaks and Geeks and Cougar Town) spared no time in condemning this 'reputable organisation', which was requesting comment for the insensitive article it was about to put up.

Attaching a reaction video to it, Philipps told her followers: "The Globe is gonna run a story that I am living on borrowed time. To that I say, 'Aren't we all motherf***ers?'"

Laughing, she continued: "But really this is insane. I'm not going to [respond]. My doctors spoke [to PEOPLE] and they're gonna just run an article that I'm living on borrowed time and that some people who have brain tumours don't live five years?

"That's true... it's not what my journey is but OK Globe, go f*** yourself."

Philipps' peers, including The Office US cast member Angela Kinsey, couldn't believe what they were seeing either.

"Good Lord! Ridiculous! Go Busy go! We got your back!!" she wrote in the comment column.

Juliette Lewis of Natural Born Killers and Yellowjackets fame referenced her own similarly troubling exposure.

"Ugh I remember getting these types of emails about 'stories' they were gonna run about MY life that were totally not true that you were damned if you do damned if you don't," she shared.

"If you give a comment then it looks like you've commented and legitimise a total lie and if you don't say anything many people will believe the totally false story. But Alas, now we have social media and we can talk directly to people!"

As Philipps herself mentioned in the Instagram callout, neuro-oncologist Dr Alexandra Miller previously told PEOPLE all about this high-profile tumour scare.

"It is considered malignant, but it has the best prognosis of all of the malignant gliomas," she revealed.

"It's sort of defined as a cancerous tumour based on the ability of the tumour to regrow over time, rather than it looking very malignant under the microscope."

Following her recovery from the surgery, Philipps does not currently require any chemo or radiotherapy, but she'll need to undergo regular scans to make sure the tumour doesn't re-form.
