Frankie Muniz makes devastating admission about what people didn't see while he was doing Malcolm in the Middle

Muniz was just 11 when he starred in Malcolm in the Middle.

Frankie Muniz has opened up about what people didn't see while he was on Malcolm in the Middle.

The 38-year-old is best known for playing Malcolm alongside two of his on-screen brothers, Dewey (Erik Per Sullivan) and Reece (Justin Berfield), from 2000 to 2006.

As of last month, Muniz has been settling into the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here Australia camp and has revealed what his life was really like as a child actor.

Last Monday (25 March), he explained how he was only allowed to work nine-and-a-half hours each day until he turned 15 because of child said laws.

"But you’d have to fit in three hours of school in that,” he added.

“We’d do rehearsal, and then they’d run you. Literally, the assistant director’s like, ‘Alright, get in school, get in school!’

During the latest episode, Muniz spoke also about how difficult it was moving the family out to LA for the show.

"Me and my mom went, but my sister stayed with my dad in North Carolina.

Muniz said: "I wasn't a part of the family since I was 11 because that's when I left."

"But my mom and dad ended up getting a divorce during that time," he said while tearing up.

"So in that sense, it's kind of sad to think about that it really did separate the family.

"I don't know how much positive it brought to the family.

"I wasn't a part of the family since I was 11 because that's when I left."

These days, Muniz is more of a open-wheel driver and has put his acting career on hold to compete part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Muniz took a break from acting and is a part-time NASCAR driver.

Ahead of joining the jungle, Muniz said: "I am officially going into the jungle.

"I don't know how to feel. I'm excited. I'm nervous.

"You know, I'm normally very organised, a planner, a control freak, I don't get to control anything here.

"So I'm along for the ride and, you know, I hope they go easy on me.

"See you in the jungle."

Meanwhile, a few Brits were a bit gutted that he isn't joining the UK version of the show.

"It's a shame he's not doing the UK version," one person wrote in the comments.

A second, rather surprised, user added: "Wait. There’s two versions of this show UK and Australia thought only Ant & Dec hosted this?"
