Halle Berry revealed that she refuses to put on a performance in the bedroom – and for good reason.

The actor, best known for her roles in X-Men and Catwoman recently sat down with sex therapist Emily Morse for an episode of her podcast Sex with Emily, revealing that she will no longer fake an orgasm when enjoying intimate time with a partner.

"I don't do that anymore," she said, explaining there used to be a societal pressure on women to pretend they'd been satisfied by a partner.

"We had to get there so that he felt good about bringing us to orgasm," Berry continued.

"We had to say that we did it so that he would feel good about himself. Because what is that doing? That’s putting his needs before our own. And now I don’t do that anymore."

"I'm like, 'No, I come first like you come first to you.' We both deserve to have this be a mutually enjoyable experience, so we both can roll over and go to sleep because we feel good — not one snoring and the other one looking at the ceiling, going, 'What the hell?'"

Berry's comments will certainly strike a chord with a number of women, with research from Psychology Today revealing that as many as 59 percent of heterosexual women have faked an orgasm during sex.

The article suggested the reason so many women have lied about their experiences in the bedroom is down to a combination of pressure and preconceptions perpetuated through modern pornography.

Explicit content accessed online also makes up a large chunk of the population's sexual education, with LADbible's recent FFS campaign revealing that one in two surveyed said porn was their first exposure to sex.

This is something which Berry also spoke candidly about in her interview with Morse, revealing that she tells her partner to not replicate what he sees in explicit videos.

"Men often mimic what they see in porn [and] that's another thing I get to say to my guy — don't do what you see in porn," she said.

Fortunately the 59-year-old actor appears to be more than satisfied in her current relationship with Van Hunt, previously revealing that she was 'madly in love' with the musician before they'd even been intimate.

"It was the first time I was madly in love before I had sex. That has never happened to me, ever," she explained in a 2024 interview with Marie Claire.

"Talk about one of those life-changing, beautiful experiences. It was magical, just magical."
