Harry Styles' mum hits back at people who have trolled his new haircut

Harry Styles' mum has hit back at the cruel trolling of her son's new trim.

Earlier this week the pop star shocked some of his fan base after switching from his long locks to a new buzz cut.

The 29-year-old hitmaker debuted the short hairstyle on Wednesday (15 November) ahead of the launch of three new fragrances for Pleasing, his perfume and apparel brand.

"Our Founder, Harry Styles, toasts the launch of Pleasing Fragrance with friends in London. November, 2023," the post read.

His fans were immediately divided by the haircut, and - as always - some people took it way too far.

One said: "Haven’t moved a muscle in 20 mins."

Another added: "Not sure if i should smile or cry."

A third wrote: "Actually he doesn't look bad but I will miss the curls."

Taking to Instagram, Styles' mum Anne Twist screenshot one of the headlines, one which read: "Harry Styles fans shocked over shaved head reveal: 'Ruined my entire life'."

The second headline was: "Breaking news: It's hair! It's his! Also it will grow back. If he wants."

In the caption, Anne wrote: "When you consider that H has a legacy of kindness and inclusion, has always made every effort to make everyone feel seen and appreciated for exactly who they are … there’s an irony in the negativity he’s been shown for having a haircut.

"Sorry but I don’t get it #TPWK."

The hashtag was an abbreviation for Styles' 2019 song, 'Treat People With Kindness'.

One follower commented: "So sad that even his mum has to speak up about it. People on the internet are not able to treat someone nicely, who has given them nothing but love and positivity. We love you H, always."

Another added: "Harry has created such a safe space for us, please let us repay him by also making a safe space for him!"

Someone else said: "I think he looks great Mrs. Twist! I personally love it. Cutting off your hair does not change the person you are. It won’t change his personality or voice. This whole ordeal is just ridiculous."

"You shouldn't even have to post this. I'm sorry that people are acting like this over his hair. Personally, I think it looks good. I really hope he's okay, after how cruel a lot of the comments are," a fourth said.

The moral of the story is that if the hair of a total stranger bothers you that much then you seriously need to look in the mirror - if your mum's basement has one.
