Hayden Panettiere shares more details of being put in bed with 'very famous undressed man'

Hayden Panettiere has shared more details about an alleged incident on a yacht when she was 18 where she claims someone she trusted put her into a bed with a 'very famous undressed man'.

The Heroes star recently appeared on Jay Shetty's On Purpose podcast, saying that she only realised she was in danger when she 'was quite literally out to sea'.

She didn't name the undressed man she was put into bed with as she described how she was taken to a 'very small room' where this famous individual was undressed and waiting for her.

Panettiere said "It was led by somebody that I had grown to trust and see as a protector and somebody who had my back.

"She physically put me in the bed next to this undressed man who was very famous."

The actor said she then fled from the room.

Her memoir This Is Me: A Reckoning was published today (19 May) and contains more detail about the alleged incident, which she said happened during a trip to the south of France where she was travelling with a woman she trusted and was on a 'super yacht' with lots of celebrities.

Panettiere said she had been enjoying her time on the yacht until near the end of the trip where she said her friend asked her to come downstairs for a meeting where there was a 'famous thirtysomething British singer-songwriter' shirtless in the bed.

"'Oh my God,' I thought. 'Is he naked under there?'," she wrote in her memoir before claiming her friend told her 'I want you to get in bed with him' and once she was in there left them alone.

She wrote that her 'body no longer felt like her own' and she initially got into the bed with the man, but once her friend had left her she went into 'survival mode'.

She told him: "Look ... I don't know what she said to you, but this is not going to happen."

Panettiere said she 'felt like I’d been kicked in the face' after being betrayed by someone she trusted, writing: "She’d confided in me, pampered me and treated me like her best friend - then turned around and treated me like a call girl."

The actor wrote that she rushed back to her cabin and started packing so she could get off the yacht.

"There was nobody who was going to be empathetic to my situation. I realised that this was nothing new to them," she told Jay Shetty's podcast.

Elsewhere in her memoir she said that when she was 19 an Oscar-winning actor had exposed his testicles to her.
