Louis Walsh facing backlash after rant about ‘vile’ Jedward prompts savage response from singers

Jedward hit back at Louis Walsh after he called them ‘vile’ on last night's episode of Celebrity Big Brother

Louis Walsh is facing backlash after his rant about Jedward - who have now hit back at the former The X-Factor judge.

Following Gary Goldsmith's eviction from the Celebrity Big Brother house on Friday, it was Walsh, Fern Britton and Lauren Simon who were up for eviction.

Last night, however, it was former Real Housewives star Simon who left the competition.

Despite the eviction, viewers were more shocked by Walsh's comments about Jedward, after he explained what it was like working with them.

Walsh - who managed the Irish twins on The X-Factor in 2009 - said: “They were vile… I done five million quid with them, I swear on my mother’s life.

“They were vile, they were novelty, they were great for the show.”

Fans weren't impressed by Walsh's comments about the twins, with one penning on X: "If you come for Jedward, you come for the Eurovision community. I met Louis Walsh in 2017 and I was NOT a fan to say the least."

And another said: "We will not be accepting Jedward slander from [Louis Walsh]."

Well, the musicians - whose real names are John and Edward Grimes - have since taken to X to hit back at the claims themselves.

The duo wrote: "Louis Walsh is a cold hearted b***ard who didn’t even send us flowers when our mom died.

"Louis Walsh B**ched and talked about us to our best friend Tara Reid and then we fired him!"

They added: "Girls Aloud hate Louis! Jedward hate Louis! Ronan Keating hates Louis! All future acts should be made aware of what this VILE man is really like.

"Louis reopened these wounds all by himself being spiteful and disrespectful we aren’t going to have our character taken. Justice will be served."

LADbible has contacted a rep of Louis Walsh for comment.

During last night's episode, Walsh also made comments about fellow housemate Britton when he was deciding on two groups for a singing competition, similar to The X Factor.

“I don’t think she’s right,” he told Sharon Osbourne, who voluntarily left the show on Tuesday.

Osbourne, the wife of Black Sabbath star Ozzy Osbourne, replied saying: “Right for what?” to which Walsh said: “For the girl group… (because) she’s older.”

Osbourne told him to 'shush' and they both ultimately chose the male contestants as the winners.

Meanwhile, Britton also revealed what she thought of Gary Barlow during a tour of the musical Calendar Girls.

She said: “So we went out on tour with them, but he (Gary) had no personality, and he had to have particular water and particular tea bags and particular blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

“(He) never touched any of it of course and disappeared … very disappointing. I’m sure he’s lovely but he was dull as dishwater.”

But Love Island star Ekin-Su Culculoglu disagreed, saying: “Gary Barlow? I think he’s great. I don’t know him but I’ve met him and he was lovely to me.”
