Mia Khalifa fans shocked after finding out her real name and particular reason behind stage name

The former adult star isn't actually called Mia Khalifa

Former Pornhub star Mia Khalifa has left fans rather confused after she revealed her real name. And in doing so, she has also explained how she got her stage name when entering the adult industry.

Khalifa is one of the most followed people on social media, with tens of millions of people signing up to updates from her across the likes of TikTok, Instagram, and X and Facebook.

Then there is her OnlyFans page, where a reported 22 million people pay for her exclusive content, giving her takings of up to $6.4 million (£5.07 million) a month.

This all came after a very short time spent in the pornography industry which she existed in for only a few months, creating a handful of adult movies in this time.

It was one of controversy though, with the now 31-year-old's first film seeing her wear a hijab while starring in explicit scenes. This saw her vilified back in her native Lebanon and even death threats sent her way by the Islamic State.

The film saw her propelled to stardom, with her becoming the most searched for person in a year on Pornhub on three separate occasions.

But the name she has used for her adult career and subsequent influencer and OnlyFans lifestyle isn't hers by birth. Instead, it's one she created when first being approached to star in explicit content.

After getting breast enhancement surgery at the age of 21, she found herself approached by a man to do some nude modelling in Miami. Taking up the offer, she created a stage name.

With her dog being called Mia, she combined that with her favourite rapper: Wiz Khalifa.

She liked his music but also liked that the name 'felt Arabic', she told Bustle.

It was something that was also noted by Bang Bros, the porn company she worked for in her short spell in the industry, when they suggested she wear a hijab for the now notorious scene.

"You motherf**kers are going to get me killed," she said about the request.

Sarah Joe Chamoun is Mia Khalifa's real name; something that she put in her Instagram bio before removing it when fans noticed. One said: "How stupid do you feel believing her real name was Mia Khalifa?"

Another added: "Her name isn't Mia Khalifa?!"

On the flip side, others said: "How stupid do you feel believing her real name was Mia Khalifa."

"Everybody knows that Mia Khalifa isn't Muslim and that isn't even her real name she's actually, Sarah Joe Chamoun not all Lebanese people are Muslim," another said.

This was in reference to the fact that Khalifa was in fact raised as a Catholic.

He moved to the company from Reach plc where he enjoyed spells as a content editor and senior reporter for one of the country's most-read local news brands, LancsLive. When he's not in work, Tom spends his adult life as a suffering Manchester United supporter after a childhood filled with trebles and Premier League titles. You can't have it all forever, I suppose.
