Peaky Blinders star Paul Anderson has opened up to fans on 'his struggles' with fans after his recent appearance sparked concern.

The actor, who played Arthur Shelby in the BBC TV series alongside Cillian Murphy, has had fans worried in recent months as he appeared dishevelled. At the time Anderson claimed he was 'flattened by the flu'.

The Peaky Blinders actor was also in court in January after being found in possession of crack cocaine and other substances.

Yet now in a video shared online, the actor has revealed he has 'struggled'.

He captioned the clip shared to Instagram as he wrote: "There’s no story without struggle."

In the video, he spoke directly to camera as he told fans: "Just like you, search inside, find it for yourself, overcome the struggles, the tribulations, the pain that you are feeling.

"Because there is no story without struggle.

"Take it from me, I have struggled, and I struggle today, the same way you do, and we deal with it.

"If I can help you deal with your struggles, then let’s do it together, let’s make this the first of many conversations, because you can’t do it on your own, you need help.

"And I will say this one more thing to you, you can help others, in turn, it will help you. It’s called service.

"So turn around my friend, look for somebody else who also is suffering, and hard as you may find it, help them, because you’ll find it helps you more, believe it or not.

"Remember this, we are amazing. You are unbelievable."

Fans of the actor have flooded the comments as they praised the star for his speech.

One person commented: "So great to hear someone like you talk about struggles. Being a fan of yours, I really thank you for doing this. I hope you are well, brother."

Another shared: "Take care mate we are here for you."

"Stay strong!" said a third.

A fourth added: "This was really motivational Paul, I will take these words and I will help others, thank you for sharing."

Anderson has a well established acting career with roles in films such as The Revenant and Legend and in various TV episodes of Top Boy, Doctor Who and Silent Witness.

Earlier this year the actor was fined £1,345 for possession of drugs following an incident on Boxing Day which saw Anderson arrested.

According to Mail Online, Anderson was found with crack cocaine, amphetamines, diazepam and pregabalin. The pub manager had alerted the police after he smelt crack cocaine fumes coming from the disabled toilet, which Anderson had left.

In January he pled guilty to possession of class A drug crack cocaine, class B amphetamines and two class C prescription substances.
